The New Constitution (Summery)

Summery:

Ustad Mango was considered very  learned among his fellow Tongawalas. He had knowledge of every matter and affairs related to politics.He had never gone to school. 

Ustad Mango was a poor man and he had some dreams about the government and always thought to spend a better life. He disliked British and called them as white Monkeys.

One day he picked up two fares from district court.They were talking about Government of India Act-1935. Ustad Mango thought that The New constitution that is held on 1 April give freedom to Indians.

He become very happy. He thought that government should give rights to native people. He hoped that The New constitution would come as a great leader.

Then he meets a gora soilder as a passenger in his tonga. He picked up a quarrel with him. Ustad Mango beats the gora soldier then two police officers lock him up.

They tell him nothing changed this is the same old constitution. 

Biography: Saadat Hassan Manto

Saadat Hassan Manto born 11 May 1912. He was a short story writer of urdu language. The New Constitution was a short story written by Saadat Hassan Manto. 

Manto was a script and film writer. He published 22 collections of short stories, 1 novel, 5 collection of radio plays.

Some of his work is published in other languages. Manto lived in Laxmi Mansion, The Mall Lahore for seven years. Those years were full of continues struggle for his survival.

He was in Lahore that he wrote his master pieces that include Thanda Ghost, Khol Do, Toba Tek Singh, Iss Manjdhar Mein. Some of his character became legendary.
