The
outermost layer of cells on the primary plant body includes seed, fruit,
leaves, stem, and root. It is absent on the root cap.
Overview:
- Epidermis
- Types of Epidermis
- Root Cap
- Epiblema
Types of Epidermis:
1.
Shoot
Epidermis:
Arise
from the outermost cell of the apical meristem.
2.
Root
Epidermis:
Arise
from the epidermal cell of roots.
Root cap:
The
outermost layer of the cortex is called the root cap.
Epiblema:
The
abnormal epidermis that is present on the root hair is called epiblema.
3.
Multiple
Epidermis:
The
epidermis divides periclinal and forms many layers of epidermis called multiple
epidermis.
4.
Hypodermis:
The
sub-epidermal layer resembles multiple epidermis.
5.
Lithocyst:
Multiple
epidermis inner layer expands more than the outer layer and has the largest
mass of cells called lithocyst.
6.
Cystolith:
Lithocysts
produce a classified body called cystolith.
